UMBC campuses are closed, but courses are now online and employees are working remotely.

Departmental Deposits

UMBC is still receiving mail and at this time the payments received will be processed on Tuesdays by SBS.

If you are expecting a check or get them on a regular basis and cannot be on campus, please have the check issued and sent directly to SBS and notify us via email or an RT ticket that these checks will be coming and attach a deposit transmittal to the correspondence.  Please have checks sent to the address below:

During this period, if you do not have two signatures we will accept an email from your approver as a second signature.


 Procedures for Departmental Deposits:
  • Checks and Credit Cards only Deposit – If you are on Campus, place the deposit transmittal and check(s) in an envelope and ask the police to escort you to the Administration building and place the envelope in the night drop box close to the glass door by the ladies bathroom. Checks only deposit can also be placed in interoffice if you feel that is a better option for you.
  • Cash and checks deposit – Our staff will be on campus once a week to process these. We are aiming to be here every Tuesday between the hours of 11:00 am and 2:00 pm. If you have a cash deposit and will be on campus, please email Amita Naik at anaik@umbc.edu or leave a voicemail at 410-455-2189 and you will be contacted the day before to coordinate access to the building.
  • Please do not send cash in an interoffice envelope.
